Best Time to Perform Umrah in 2026: A Month-by-Month Guide
There's no single "best" month for Umrah - it depends on whether you're prioritising cooler weather, a quieter Haram, or the lowest possible price. Here's how 2026 breaks down, season by season.
Winter: November - January
Daytime temperatures sit in a comfortable 28-32°C range, making this one of the most pleasant times to travel - especially for elderly pilgrims, families and anyone visiting with young children. Because the weather is so favourable, this period also attracts moderate to higher crowds, and pricing tends to sit in the mid-to-upper range. Book at least 4-6 weeks ahead if you're travelling around the New Year holidays.
Spring: February - April (Ramadan Season)
Ramadan is expected to fall roughly between mid-February and mid-March 2026. Temperatures climb steadily from around 29°C to 36°C across the season. This is, without question, the busiest and most expensive time of year to perform Umrah - for many pilgrims it's also the most spiritually rewarding, since Umrah performed during Ramadan is often described as carrying the reward of Hajj. If Ramadan Umrah matters to you, book 4-6 months in advance; visa slots and hotel rooms near the Haram fill up quickly.
Summer: June - August
This is the hottest stretch of the year, with daytime temperatures reaching 38-41°C. It's also the quietest period for Umrah, since it falls in the months just after Hajj (Muharram and Safar), and pricing is typically at its lowest - often 30-50% cheaper than the winter or Ramadan peaks. If you can handle the heat and prefer shorter queues at the Haram, this is genuinely one of the best-value windows of the year.
Autumn: September - November
Temperatures ease gradually from around 36°C in September down to 32°C by November, and crowd levels stay moderate throughout. This "shoulder season" offers a reasonable balance of comfortable weather and mid-range pricing - Quba International's own fixed September 2026 Umrah departure falls right at the start of this window.
Quick Comparison
- Cheapest months: June - August (post-Hajj lull)
- Most comfortable weather: November - January
- Most crowded and expensive: Ramadan (mid-February - mid-March 2026)
- Best all-round balance: September - November
How Far in Advance Should You Book?
As a general rule, book 2-3 months ahead for a regular-season Umrah, and 4-6 months ahead if you want to travel during Ramadan or the winter holidays. Fixed-departure group packages, where the travel agency has already blocked flights and hotel rooms, are usually the most reliable way to lock in both your dates and your price early.
